  • All extracurricular events at the secondary level will be held as scheduled this evening, Thursday, January 19, 2017.

Further updates will be posted here as they become available.

The District has sent the following message to staff, students and parents:

January 19, 2017

Dear Staff, Students, and Parents,

Well, here we are again!  As you know, school was cancelled today due to treacherous, icy, and partially flooded roads, parking lots, and playgrounds.  Some areas of town were better than others, but overall safety for busses, cars, walkers, and bicyclists was too great of a risk to hold school.

Fortunately, we are still within the State required instructional hours. However, if we have any additional cancellations, we will need to determine a plan of action.  We want to assure you that our teachers, principals and district-level support staff will ensure students receive focused instruction around essential concepts and required standards at each grade level and in each content area.

Again, any decision to cancel school includes a multitude of factors and sources of information.  We appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue to deal with unprecedented weather events.
